Glen Community Church is a church FAMILY, not a church BUILDING.
We are a growing, enthusiastic FAMILY with a true passion to...
BELONG...to a caring and loving family
BELIEVE...in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour
BECOME...kingdom builders
Our purpose is to follow the example and guidance of Jesus through our vision:
LOVE JESUS : LOVE PEOPLE : LOVE LIFE
Our biblical basis on which we are building our church family comes from 2 Peter 3:18
LET US GROW IN THE GRACE AND KNOWLEDGE OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST. TO HIM BE GLORY BOTH NOW AND FOREVER. AMEN.
GLEN COMMUNITY CHURCH was commissioned by the Rector of St Marks Church of Ireland in the town, Revd Chris Matchett and first gathered on Sunday 24th August 2014.
GLEN COMMUNITY CHURCH is a church plant as part of the life and ministry of St Marks Church of Ireland, Newtownards and they have employed Stephen Doherty as Church Leader of the church family in the Glen.

FAQs...frequently asked questions
We fully understand how difficult it can be to become the "newbie" and walk in to a new place on your own for the first time, so we hope these FAQs will help you...
DRESS CODE
We have no strict formal dress code. GCC is a "come as you are" church family, though clothes are best worn!
WELCOME
On a Sunday morning, the Welcome Space at Londonderry Primary is busy with people enjoying our Tea & Toast Welcome served from around 10.30ish. There's always a welcoming, smiling face to say "hello" although if this still doesn't sound your cuppa, let us know and we can arrange for someone to meet you and walk you in, making sure you don't arrive on your own.
Also, if you find that you may need a lift to church, again, get in touch and we are only too happy to oblige.
GIVING
How much does it cost to "join" GCC?
We definitely do not charge for our ministries at GCC. If you are simply looking for a church family, we expect no form of giving.
However, like all families, we have our fair share of bills to cover and if you find your place within our church family, there are a variety of ways in which you can support our ministries at GCC...please ask.
BAPTISMS & FUNERALS
We believe celebrations and sorrows play a significant part of our ministry in the Glen and we can arrange baptisms and funerals. Please get in touch with Stephen Doherty for more information.
